Hole by Hole
Hole by Hole Overview
“Keep It on the Straight and Narrow”
Par 5, 500 Yards
A four-tiered tee-block gives players the perfect vision of the challenges ahead. Playing to a length of 500 yards, with multiple hazards along the way, allows golfers to use a variety of clubs in their bag. The two-tiered green is slightly elevated and subtlety nestled into a rolling mound backdrop.
“Challenge Yourself”
Par 3, 140 Yards
Hole two is the first of three par 3s you will encounter at Riverside. Playing to a length of 140 yards, beware the tricky pot bunker that protects the green – it’s a doozy to chip out of if you get caught!
“Grip It + Rip It”
Par 4, 440 Yards
Hole three plays to a length of 440 yards. This par four with a vast landing zone from the tee yields to a narrow green approach. Playing to the left of the green is a wise choice, as the Duffin’s Creek meandering to the right pressures your second shot into this generous sized green.
“Choices Abound”
Par 5, 505 Yards
Hole four, the second par five of the course, plays to a length of 505 yards. Tee shot accuracy is paramount here as water and bunker hazards lurk in the distance. This hole finishes working uphill to a large and welcoming green location.
“Short but Mighty”
Par 3, 145 Yards
The fifth hole pays to a length of 145 yards. This hole features a large pond snuggled beside a long narrow, well-bunkered green. The elevated tee decks give players the perfect view of the hazards to avoid on this tricky par three.
“Play Strategically”
Par 4, 320 Yards
The sixth hole is a 320-yard par four that gently bends in a dog leg formation from left to right. Playing to the target flag from the elevated tee deck will leave your second shot in a wide-open landing zone with the perfect angle to the green. The willow lined green location drops off steeply trickling downwards towards the fast flowing Duffin’s Creek.
“Read + React”
Par 4, 325 Yards
The seventh hole is a true 90° dog leg left playing to a par of four and the length of 325 yards. A tree sheltered tee box location reveals a strategic golf hole. This hole follows the babbling creek where the small green is protected by bunker hazards both front and back. This green has few if any flat pin locations.
“In-play, plays”
Par 3, 180 Yards
The final par three is the eighth hole. It is also the longest of the par threes playing to a length of 180 yards. It presents a beautiful tree-lined hole that plays across the crystal clear Duffin’s Creek. Although this putting surface is one of the largest on the course it falls off rapidly to the front and the back, making it perhaps the trickiest.
“Shoot to Score”
Par 4, 340 Yards
We saved the best for last – the signature hole at Riverside is number nine. A par four, playing to a length of a 340 yards, is carved out of the natural geography of the property and displays some of the prettiest fall colours you will ever see. The green invites a lofted, pin seeking approach shot, as bunker and water hazards surround this tranquil green site.
